As a shoemaker, I don’t just make shoes — I can repair them too.

From leg-length-difference raises and new soles to replacement heels, I can carry out a wide range of repairs. Whether it’s a much-loved pair of dancing shoes, a well-worn pair of walking boots or an orthopaedic shoe that needs some attention, I’m always happy to see if I can give them a new lease of life.

All Sweetmore & Firth shoes are made with repairability in mind. That means when they need some TLC, I can work on them without causing unnecessary damage. Often, it’s simply a case of replacing or repairing the part that has worn, rather than saying goodbye to the whole shoe.

I’ve repaired plenty of dancing shoes, resoled walking boots, fitted raises and carried out repairs to orthopaedic footwear. Every pair has its own little challenge, and that’s part of what I love about repair work.

And did you know that leather shoes can often be stretched?

If you’re struggling to get your shoes on, or they’ve become a little too snug over time, why not let me have a go at stretching them? There are no promises — every shoe and every foot is different — but sometimes a little careful work can make all the difference.

So before you retire those old faithfuls to the back of the cupboard, bring them along and let’s see what can be done.

They might just have a few more miles, dances or adventures left in them yet.

Repair, don’t replace — and keep walking happy for longer.
